Barre or Pilates? What’s the Difference?
Looking for a workout that makes you feel graceful, strong, and just a little bit fierce? Barre classes are a favorite for a lot of clients looking to build strength, improve posture, and add a fun new challenge to their movement routine.
While Pilates and barre share similarities, they each offer something unique. Barre classes combine elements of ballet-inspired movement, Pilates, and functional strength training into a low-impact workout that delivers a serious burn while staying gentle on the joints.
Pilates focuses primarily on core strength, spinal alignment, breath control, and precise movement patterns designed to improve stability and body mechanics. Barre, on the other hand, incorporates more standing work, pulse movements, and endurance-based exercises inspired by dance conditioning.
Many barre exercises also focus heavily on the legs, glutes, core, and upper body, creating a full-body workout that leaves you feeling stronger and more energized.
Our Barre classes are designed to be welcoming, energizing, and effective for all fitness levels. We’d love to see you in class and help you discover how strong, balanced, and empowered you can feel.
And to keep you moving all Summer long, you can get a 6 pack of barre classes for $106!

Move of the Month: Swan Dive
This month we’re spotlighting the Swan Dive! If you followed along with March MATness you may remember this move from Day 12 of our Instagram and YouTube series.
The Swan Dive is a classical Pilates exercise that focuses on spinal extension, posture, and full-body coordination. The Swan Dive builds on the Swan by adding a dynamic rocking motion that challenges control, balance, and rhythm. As the body rocks forward and backward, practitioners must coordinate breath, core support, and spinal mobility to maintain fluid movement. The exercise develops strength and endurance throughout the entire posterior chain while promoting confidence in movement and greater body awareness.
This month we’re spotlighting the Swan Dive! If you followed along with March MATness you may remember this move from Day 12 of our Instagram and YouTube series.
