Pilates Teacher Training Program

Pilates by the Bay proudly offers BodyFit Pilates™ Teacher Training Academy, assessment-based certificate programs and continuing education is based on a college curriculum model.  Graduates of the full 500 hour comprehensive Pilates Instructor certificate are receiving the equivalent of an associate’s degree, in terms of credit hours, and will be completely prepared to sit for the Pilates Method Alliance-Certified Pilates Teacher exam (PMA-CPT, the ONLY national Pilates instructor certification).

Following an academic model, BodyFit Pilates™ education curriculum was designed with YOU, the student, in mind.  Our courses are accessible, flexible, and affordable.  As a BodyFit Pilates™ student, you can elect to take the entire comprehensive 500 hour equipment program all at once, or pick and choose to take courses as best fits your needs, schedule and budget.  However, in order to complete the full requirements necessary to sit for the PMA Certified Pilates Teacher Exam, all prerequisites must be satisfied, and required courses must be taken in order of level (100 level courses, followed by 200 level courses, and then 300 and 400 level courses). Contact us for more information or to register.

Note: Workshops may be scheduled at any time with a minimum of two students. If you have a friend or co-worker wishing to join, contact us to schedule custom workshop dates.

Bodhi Suspension System™

A dynamic, whole-body system that challenges core strength, flexibility and proprioception.

The 16-hour course, with Bodhi Suspension System™ Faculty Member Patty Baiano, includes a detailed manual and suggested class formats — everything you need to begin teaching on the Bodhi Suspension System to all fitness levels. The course has a programmatic track format that makes learning the exercises easy, fun and teachable. The Bodhi Suspension System Training is rooted in Balanced Body movement principles which emphasize safe and effective movement potential.

This course is not limited to Pilates Teachers. Personal Trainers, Physical Therapists, Fitness Instructors, and movement enthusiasts alike can learn to teach this amazing method of movement. Bodhi is not only used for fitness and balance training, it is also a powerful tool for physical rehabilitation.

Especially beneficial for trained TRX Teachers, this course can bring a deeper understanding into the anatomy of suspension training and expand your teaching repertoire with Pilates-based movements. For Bodhi Enthusiasts, if you already love your Bodhi classes but have no intention of teaching—no problem! This workshop can be used as a deep immersion into the ropes to deepen your own personal practice.
